Day 1
Your trip starts with a 7am meeting at the hotel where you will meet your English speaking guide. Leaving Nairobi , we head into Nakuru National Park where we take an afternoon game drive. Nakuru is one of the best places in the country for spotting white rhino and is famous for the thousands of pink flamingos that completely cover the lake, although due to high rainfall over the past 18 months flamingos tend to be few and far between.
Tonight we bush camp under the stars in the middle of the national park.

Day 2
Rise this morning for an early morning game drive. After returning for late brunch, we drive to a working farm on the outskirts of Nakuru. Relax this afternoon or take a farm walk and visit the local knitting co-op located on the grounds.

Day 3
We head to Eldoret this morning. This highland city is very popular for training elite athletes due to the high altitude and is where a lot of famous Kenyan marathon runners hail from.
Tonight we stay on the outskirts of the city in accommodation with a cave bar on site.

Day 4
Leaving early this morning, we cross the border into Uganda and head to Jinja.
Tonight we sleep on the banks of the White Nile.

Day 5
We drive to Nakitoma National Park this morning for a 2 night stay at the Nakitoma Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Arrive this afternoon in time to relax and prepare for tomorrow.

Day 6
A unique experience for the bird watchers amongst us, we rise early and set out in mokoros (small dugout canoes) in search of the Shoebill. A large prehistoric looking bird, there are only an estimated 5000 left in the world making this a once in a lifetime opportunity.
This afternoon we will get up close and personal with the rhinos while taking a guided walk. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 7
A driving day today, we arrive in Kibale late afternoon to spend the next 2 nights with spectacular views overlooking the many tea plantations in the area.

Day 8
This morning is dedicated to visiting the chimpanzees. Head into the forest in search of these beautiful primates and spend an hour watching them go about their daily lives.
This afternoon take the opportunity to go on a plantation tour, see how the tea leaves are picked and never take tea for granted again.

Day 9
Today is a nature lovers dream as we head to the Queen Elizabeth National Park and take a scenic boat cruise through the Kazinga Channel. See herds of elephants, hippos and water buffalo mingling by the water and many different species of bird, from the huge pelicans to the tiny kingfisher.

Day 10
A driving day today, we head for Kabale, a small town situated close to the Uganda/Rwanda border. This gives us a head start on the border traffic tomorrow.

Day 11
This morning we get an early start to cross into Rwanda. We will head to the capital city, Kigali, and visit the genocide museum built as a memorial to Rwanda’s civil war.  We then drive to Ruhengeri where we will be staying in a hotel for next 3 nights.

Day 12
Today we trek to see the mountain gorillas, one of the major highlights of our trip. Trekking times differ depending on where the gorillas are located in the dense forest, so be prepared to walk for up to 4 hours, both up and down hills.
We are usually able to get to within 7m of a family – including the massive silverback!

Day 13
Today is free to relax, wander around town or experience some of the other activities on offer here. Visit the golden monkeys or take a day hike up Mt Bisoke.

Day 14
We return to Uganda today to camp beside Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in East Africa and one of the only lakes where you can safely swim without the worry of crocodiles. Canoes are available for hire if you are looking for a lovely peaceful way of spending the afternoon. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) 85km

Day 15
This morning we head to Lake Mburo. This small park is acacia woodland so has completely different flora and fauna from the other parks in East Africa and the only place in Uganda where you can see zebra.

Day 16
A driving day today, we head back to Jinja where we return to the Nile to spend an action packed final 2 nights in Uganda.

Day 18
Leaving Jinja, we cross the border back into Kenya and return to El Doret for the night.

Day 19
Today we drive to Lake Naivasha. Located in the Rift Valley with towering cliffs, stunning scenery and spectacular gorges, Lake Naivasha is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley and is one of the major exporters of cut roses to the EU.

Day 20
Spend the day exploring Lake Naivasha, and cycle around Hell’s Gate National Park, a very unique opportunity to get up close and personal with giraffes, zebras and other game animals. Hike into the slot canyon of Hell’s gorge before biking back through the park to take a more relaxed boat cruise on Lake Naivasha.

Day 21
